Title: Condolence
News Story: It is my sad duty to once again inform you of the death of Ms. Annie Riggsbee. Another link is missing from our earthly chain and our heavenly chain is increased by one. I contacted Ms. Collene earlier today and this was her response, "Yes. She passed quietly on Saturday afternoon at home in New Jersey. A memorial service will be planned in two to three weeks." We extend to you and your family our sincerest condolences, prayers, and thoughts during this time of your loss. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do on this end. We share your grief and please remember, Psalm 22:24--For He has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; He has not hidden His face from her, but has listened to her cry for help. Mournfully and prayerfully yours, The O. C. T. S.-Lincoln High -Northside Alumni Association

Title: Soul Food Fundraiser
News Story: Fellow Alumni, I am asking you to support my daughter, Danita, Soul Food Fundraiser on this Saturday, September 18th at the Masonic Lodge. As you may know, Danita was born and raised in Chapel Hill and has been working and volunteering in the community upon returning from graduate school fifteen years ago. She has always been willing to lend her skills and talents to help anyone who has needed it in Chapel Hill, often asking nothing in return. Currently, she is attending classes at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. Danita has a great interest in documenting the history of African Americans in Orange and Chatham counties. As you know, I too believe that it is important to document our rich history as a legacy for our children. This fundraiser is to purchase audio, video and software equipment to capture and preserve those stories. In the meantime, If you have a story or piece of history that you would like to share, please contact her at danitasdesk@yahoo.com or call me at (919) 260-8920. Plates for the fundraiser are $7 and food will be sold from 11-2 and from 4-7. Please plan to allow us do the cooking for one of your meals on Saturday and support a great cause which will benefit us and our children. Sincerely Yours, Dave
